BMW M5 TUNING
The F90 M5 accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 secconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), and the delimited top speed is 305 km/h (190 mph) with the optional M Driver's Package. Despite the heavier four-wheel drive, BMW was able to reduce the weight of the new M5 by about 40 kg (88 lb) over the previous generation M5. 592bhp of German engineering is punched with the new variation of twin scrolled turbo V8.
At GCAP Performance we have a few hardware and software modifications to help boost the power on your M5.
We use an Akrapovič exhaust system on our tuning packages for this vehicle.
Built from high-grade lightweight titanium to reduce weight, with valve housings cast in the in-house foundry, the Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system fits directly onto the BMW M5’s stock downpipes. Developed to deliver both power and torque gains throughout the range and significantly reduce the back pressure, it is finished with hand-crafted carbon-fibre tailpipes to enrich the visual enjoyment of the exhaust. The tailpipes have been perfectly crafted and designed to fit beautifully within the optional carbon-fibre diffuser. Optional carbon-fibre mirror caps are also available to further enhance the car's appearance.
By fitting decat downpipes, you can instantly unlock over 40bhp and added crackles on overrun in sports and sport plus modes.
We have developed our own software to increase the cars performance. This comes in two forms. A stage 1 map (I.E. a software only calibration with no hardware changes) and a stage 2 (with our Akrapovič exhaust system).
When tuning we measure afr, ignition timing, intake temps, EGTs etc. to ensure our tune is as safe and reliable as possible whilst drawing the most out of your supercar.
We have seen gains up to 750bhp.
As with most BMWs, the brake system is excellent. However we can offer modified braided brakes lines. Our lines have a stronger wall density delivering a more precise and accurate brake pedal feel. This translates into more confidence in your sports car.
